Happy New Year

I'm sure like many of u out there your glad to have headaches of the mad dash of the holidays are behind. I don't know about u but this year has been tight & called upon a lot of last minute creativity to make sure that everyone got a little something. Why is it we put so much presure on ourselves to find that special something for someone. We all say the same things holidays should be about family & friends but in the back of our minds we get the nagging feeling our love is really judged by how much we spend. Myself I fail at that I admit I don't often shop in the box stores but look elsewhere for something one of a kind. I enjoy the hunt I enjoy that my hard earned dollar is going to support my community that I help the environment & the thrill of being drawn to an object. In that moment I can picture the person opening such a gift their eyes lighting up in suprise at something that may add to allready bursting collection or having lisened to a softly spoken want. You could say I'm green or frugal or just plain too broke to get a shinny often over priced it gift. Now that the gifts have been unwraped maybe I'm not such a bad gifter I have less paper waste (love those reuseable shopping bags) & a lot of you shouldn't have's. Now as new year's dawn upon us the tree & decorations have lost some of their sparkle as u think about the task of sorting & repacking (hey didn't we just get this stuff up we hear our husbands grumble). Its time to reflect on how can it be that a year has gone by. Every year goes by way to quick with moments & memories we hope we did the best we could as we compile a new or not so new list of resolutions. We have a whole year of living behind us with the hope of a better one ahead. I hope for whoever reads this has a blessed 2010 toast to your health friends & family.
